Hannah Groce is an Alameda native who has dedicated her career and volunteer pursuits to supporting the advancement of equity. She is the product of public schools in Alameda and was a first-generation college student who believes in the transformative power of education. She has focused on social impact across various areas: education, criminal justice reform, and food and housing access, all to create stronger communities. She is an alumna of Mount Holyoke College with an AB in African American Studies and Ancient Greek. Her career began at BUILD Oakland, supporting high school students at a college access nonprofit, and she is now a policy fellow at Partnership for the Bay’s Future, focused on affordable housing policy in the City and County of San Francisco.

She is a strong believer in the potential of the next generation and has been a mentor and application reader for East Bay College Fund (now Oakland Promise), a member of the scholarship committee for the Marcus Foster Education Institute, and has mentored high school and college students throughout the Bay Area. She is the former president and a current board member of the Mount Holyoke College Club of Northern California and has been the sole East Bay Alumna Admission Representative (AAR) for Mount Holyoke College for over 12 years. Her work on the board and with admissions has allowed her to support a gender-inclusive women’s college in its mission to educate the next generation of leaders.

Hannah cares deeply about creating strong communities and believes that equitable access to quality education, well-paying jobs, affordable housing, promoting the arts, and improving public safety are part of realizing this. She is also a 2023 Emerge California alumna.
